Impervia

The name “Impervia” derives from impervious, which speaks to its impenetrable nature as a flooring solution, impervious to both water and heat and unaffected by a multitude of conditions that would cause damage to more traditional flooring solutions.

Impervia® Luxury Flooring was developed as part of the Ryder International Limited group as a solution for major developers, architects and designers who needed a more competitive product with low installation costs and a higher tolerance for the everyday wear-and-tear experienced by flooring solutions.

What are the benefits?

  1. Natural Finish: Brushed European Oak texture to mimic the properties of hard wood flooring but without any of the restrictions
  2. Environmentally Sustainable: Impervia® flooring does not use PVC in its construction. Because of this we hold a Greenguard GOLD certification. Our floors are also sustainable with a high rated floor score and formaldehyde free.
  3. Water Proof: the rigid core helps to prevent warping when exposed to moisture, this means you can install in virtually any conditions, especially bathrooms and basements
  4. Heat Resistant: Impervia® has a mineral-based core made up of magnesium oxide, reinforced with tough fibreglass, making it fire-resistant and very well suited to any underfloor heating system
  5. Durability: resistant to damage caused by high heels and heavy objects that would mark or dent hardwood floors
  6. Stability: the high-density core makes this flooring more resistant to expanding and contracting than other floors, eliminating the need for expansion gaps
  7. Easy Installation: The Valinge 5Gi push fit system makes the Impervia floor a DIY solution, and with the IXPE backing it means you can install directly over most existing floors, such as old wood, stone and ceramic tiles etc., as long as it is structurally sound and perfectly flat
  8. Price: Impervia® boards are cheaper than real wood and softer to walk on

Where can it be fitted?

Impervia can be used anywhere. It has been fitted in residential development projects to retail outlets, restaurants and hospitality projects and is designed to be easy to fit and replace, meaning that single or multiple boards can be swapped out for new ones. Our website shows the variety of colour and finishes available, and where Impervia® has been installed in the past.

Impervia® is the best option for flooring where natural engineered timber or laminate flooring is considered too expensive or unsuitable. Technical details can be found in the technical centre of our website.

Tailored to you.

As the sole manufacturers we can make Impervia designs to meet your requirements, subject to lead time and quantity. We have a huge amount of experience working with designers and architects to achieve exactly what they need for any project, and any one of our team would be happy to help you start the process today.

What is it made from?

Impervia flooring doesn’t use traditional vinyl. As a stone composite, there are no nasty plastics in the construction, and the centre core is made up of fully recycled material.

UV COATING

The UV coating helps to keep your flooring looking great year after year. Keeping the Decor layer from fading and keeping your flooring looking amazing even in the sunniest of environments.

WEAR LAYER

The wear layer adds a natural texture to your flooring which helps us achieve that great non-slip surface whilst keeping your flooring 100% waterproof.

DÉCOR FILM

Where the magic happens, the decor film is the look of your flooring, completing your room with that perfect wood effect, without the worry of humidity or water damage. Just about the closest you can get to the real thing. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for we can even create a custom texture.

CORE BOARD

A mineral based core made up of magnesium oxide (MGO core) reinforced with tough fibreglass for stability and durability. This means it is fireproof, dent proof. shift proof and mould proof. Whilst being environmentally sustainable.

IXPE FOAM:

Safe and odourless, IXPE foam is easily machined and cast, and can be mixed with many other materials. The scope for further development is incredibly broad, owing to its reputation as a new and environmentally-safe material.
