Impervia Stone Composite Flooring at Prince of Wales Drive, London
Back in October of 2023, we supplied two colour variations of our Impervia Herringbone range to The Prince of Wales Drive project located in Battersea, London. St. William, a brand of the Berkeley Group, gave us the opportunity to utilise our flooring in various areas of the property, including the hallways, games rooms, and even a piano room.
Impervia Herringbone swiftly became one of the most popular stone composite luxury flooring (LVT) products on the market today due to the high durability, budget-friendly and waterproof capabilities the brand can offer. Paired with a look comparable of that only a regular hardwood flooring product can offer, Impervia was the perfect choice to use for a project which has taken pride in such a high attention to detail.
To highlight the durability aspect of Impervia, you can see an image which showcases the Champagne Oak Herringbone used in the piano room. The design team wanted a warm, neutral space for the games room. Our Champagne Oak not only brightens the room, but creates an air of tranquillity owing to the gentle Oak tones and character. Due to the rigid stone core and multi-layer design, the Herringbone supported the grand piano with ease, and will continue to do so for years to come. The Champagne Oak was also used in the games room as Impervia also proudly boasts 100% waterproof properties and high slip resistance. A games room will always be the most likely place for people to come, have a drink and partake in various activities, so being able to combat spills all while not having to worry about becoming a hazard makes Impervia the go-to product for a project such as The Prince of Wales Drive.
The Walnut Herringbone Oak was used in the more high-traffic areas of the project such as the hallways. The restaurant needed to echo the by-gone days of opulence, settled with a modern twist. The designers chose our American Walnut which has a deep lustre and grandeur, allowing it to fit timelessly in classical and contemporary spaces. It is resistant to dents, scratches, and stains, making it ideal for spaces such as these, and the ease of maintenance supports St. William’s decision to use this product even further. Impervia doesn’t require waxing, polishing, or special cleaners, regular sweeping and occasional mopping are usually sufficient to keep it looking good.
The layout which was implemented within this project was herringbone. This design, with its distinctive zigzag pattern, adds depth and movement to the flooring, making it a focal point of the interior. The intricate arrangement of the planks not only showcases the craftsmanship involved but also adds a layer of texture and complexity to the rooms. This pattern seamlessly complements the contemporary architecture of Prince of Wales Drive, creating a harmonious blend of traditional and modern design elements. The choice of herringbone pattern flooring is a nod to the rich architectural history of London, where such designs have long been associated with stately homes and grand buildings. By incorporating this pattern into the Prince of Wales Drive development, the designers have managed to evoke a sense of heritage, while still maintaining a fresh and current look.
In addition to its visual appeal and eco-friendly credentials, Impervia Stone composite flooring offers a practical advantage in terms of cost. It is competitively priced, ensuring that the Berkeley Group, who were in charge of this fantastic development, could benefit from high-quality, stylish flooring without an exorbitant price tag. This balance of affordability and quality is particularly important in a development that aims to provide luxury living without unnecessary expense.
In summary, the choice of Impervia Stone composite flooring for the amenities rooms at Prince of Wales Drive is a testament to the development’s commitment to combining style, sustainability, and practicality. The walnut wood effect flooring not only matches the modern aesthetic of the building but also offers a recyclable, cost-effective solution that will serve the residents well for years to come.
